Citrine is a quartz variety of a specific inn a colour range from pale yellow to brown. Natural citrines are very rare. Most commercial vitrines are heat treated amethysts or smoky quartz. Citrine has been referred to as merchant’ s stone or money stone, due to a superstition that it would bring prosperity.
