While I can’t stand mess in certain areas of the flat ever really; creating a pocket of chaos by moving my studio into the hallway has been the best move. Painting for me is not the type of work that requires a work/life balance because it has forever been the balance in my life. Banishing it to a space unconnected to where I live has never helped me focus or concentrate…quite the opposite in fact.
